KCB Burundi undertook a program to upskill artisans through organizing and exchange program for a select group of artisans. The selected group of 17 men and three women underwent training in product finish, style, production technique and manufacturing standards from artisans in Kenya.
The intent was to build a better quality workforce, able to use new information based on technologies which would in turn allow a country to respond flexibly to technological change, produce higher quality products, adapt and improve upon new processes and develop relevant (employable) skills as the job market changes.
