Under the “Improving the employability of young people through Skills and Enterprise Development Project (SEDP), KCB Foundation and GIZ seek to increase skills development for 4,000 youth in the agriculture and construction sectors in Kenya.
KCB Foundation in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) E4D/SOGA programme is offering scholarships for training in hydroponics farming technology for Kenyan youth aged 18-35 years old.
The scholarship is open to youth belonging to a registered group of 7 – 10 people. Groups currently seeking registration will also be considered. The scholarships will be offered at Miramar International College, Kikuyu beginning August 2018.
The training will run for 6 months at Miramar International College, Kikuyu, Kenya. It will entail 3 months of classroom-based theory training with practical exercises and the additional 3 months for the construction of production units/green houses and actual production of the agricultural produce.
The youth will be facilitated to get sub-leases for land to construct production units/greenhouses as well as to enter into production contracts with large scale off-takers and retailers such as supermarkets and other outlets.
Interviews shall be conducted on Monday July 30, 2018 from 8:00am to 5:00pm at Miramar International College, Kikuyu.
